Restoration of Local Chapel at Royal Victory Country Park

In 2015 Hampshire County Council secured Heritage Lottery Funding to undertake extensive conservation, alterations and new build works to the Grade II Listed Chapel at Royal Victory Country Park, Netley.

Philspace were requested to provide welfare facilities at the site and we were delighted to be part of this historic project from 2016 to 2018.  Our units remained on site for just over 18 months whilst the contractors worked through sunshine and snow to restore the wonderful chapel to its former glory!

The Royal Victoria Hospital was opened by Queen Victoria in 1863 and became the world’s largest military hospital.  The Chapel is all that remains of the hospital following years of neglect and a fire in 1966 which resulted in the hospital being demolished.  More fascinating history and information can be found at https://www.hants.gov.uk/thingstodo/rvchapel/
